I was delighted to be invited to take pics at Sadie and Maxine’s official opening, being in the same building as my studio  I look forward to working together in the future. They provide an appointment only service of various beauty treatments including make-up and hair styling, nails, spray tans and lots of other things, just look up their website or if you are in the area go check out their groovy new Brit pop art styly studio at the Hythe Quay, Colchester. If you have ever wondered about what the studio is like at http://www.boudoirvous.co.uk/ or if you have questions that you would like answered about confidentiality or privacy, or maybe you are just curious to come and have a look and meet myself and my make-up artist. Please join us on our open day, we will be open from 10.30am – 3pm , my make-up artist will be doing a demo in the studio, there will be drinks and nibbles, vintage stalls and chilled tunes. It is RSVP only so please book before hand so we can keep an eye on numbers. We are based on the Hythe Quay, How to find us .

Floors of Old a company based in Hertfordshire, asked me to take some  more pics of one of their beautiful floors. They supplied and fitted this floor in the National Portrait Museum Restaurant. I was amazed to see so may landmarks from their windows, lovely staff and nice views worth a look if you are in the area.

One of my most favourite things to do on a day off is to wander around an art gallery. I love the atmosphere, the quiet, the focus and calmness which can be found in a gallery. I often leave with my brain on over drive wanting to get creative with my camera as soon as possible however my every day work must take priority so I tend not to allow myself the time or the space to express my more quirky ideas. I have decided this should change and right now I am working on a new site to display some of this work but in the meantime until it is complete I will post some things here….

All this week I have been made busy taking pictures for other people. Today I had a day off and it was so nice to take a wander over the fields near where I live and take pictures of one of my favourite things…nature. I only took one lens as I find sometimes it is best to limit myself to just using one, it restricts me but this can be a good thing. It makes me really think about the lens and using it to the max. I love my 100mm, it’s one of my best. I make myself stop mid walk and just look, look until I see what is there right in front of me. I have taken pictures of such weird and wonderful things recently, some personal, some private commissions and some joint ventures. From Proms and dance pics to bumps and hedgehogs! I find I don’t always have the time or permission to show all that I do as some people prefer to keep things private which is understandable. Here are some relaxed pics from The Colne Community School Prom night.

I am out most days doing wacky school photography, today I have a very husky voice reminds me a bit of Cathy Beale (Eastenders ). Too much shouting at the children in a good way of course, in order to get their attention you have to make a lot of noise and pull some weird ole faces.
