Some may think because the name has the word ‘Essex’ in it that this group of women might possibly all have fake tans and wear white stilettos. In truth it’s actually made up of a diverse mix of business women from all over Essex from one woman bands to franchisee’s. I have been involved with this group since before Xmas 2012 and only have good things to say about it. Being part of EGIB is about being mutually supportive but also helping each other to generate leads and ultimately share business with one another. How refreshing to be able to talk about the birth process and then switch to the subject of managing social networks and no one winces, no one cringes. Its good honest, open stuff. If you haven’t been along I highly recommend it. http://www.essexgirlsinbusiness.com/
Easter holiday offer for children
Please go check out my Boudoir site
My studio is open for business 10am – 10pm.
Don’t worry if you are nervous or worried about your small children not behaving or being unhappy for the pictures. I am used to distracting and making silly noisy for children, experienced with photography in nurseries and schools I have picked up tricks and tips to get their eye contact and put them at ease. I know children need time and space to feel relaxed so please do not worry about your toddler screaming or your baby suddenly falling asleep.
I aim to provide a portrait session which is relaxed, comfortable and fun. My studio is open from 10am – 10pm to allow for bookings after work.
15 Queen Street, Colchester
Hi, I know I am not brilliant with keeping my blog up to date, it’s something I need to spend more time on! I just wanted to give the people at 15, Queen Street a bit of a shout out. If you don’t know anything about them then you should check out their website or call into their office and meet the lovely Alex Davis who lives on the front desk and will happily give you a tour and tell you a little about what they do. Here is their website: http://www.15queenstreet.org/about
If you are a creative person in your spare time or have turned your hand to starting your own business then they can be a great resource for you. They have lots of different clubs and work shops, get together’s, talks and meet ups where you can mingle and mix with other creatives, pick their brains, share a beer or two and swap details.
If you join as I have as a Flexi member you pay just £15 p/month which entitles you to attend their once a month get together, rental of a room, the opportunity to connect and build relationships with the other members. I went a long yesterday to have my picture taken, and talk about my Boudoir Photography http://boudoirvous.co.uk/ it was windy and rainy so my hair looks like I have a comb over. I really do not like being the other side of the Camera but Alex was very patient with me.
New book – Punk Rock People Management by Peter Cook (see my images)
Peter Cook uses some of my images in his new book –
Curiously titled “Punk Rock People Management”, it offers some short and straightforward advice on hiring, inspiring and firing staff. In the spirit of punk, Peter has made each chapter just two pages long – ideal for busy people and those who now browse books online.
Peter offers keynote seminars and more traditional business consultancy without guitars, based on his ideas – you can find out more at THE ACADEMY OF ROCK and HUMAN DYNAMICS

School Photography
I haven’t been very good at keeping my blog up to date as I have been travelling around the Country doing School Photography. I am itching to post up some pics I took recently from the top of Snowdon, hopefully the first of the three peaks.
