I am lucky to have a few photographer friends so when we want to update our own images online we spend a day messing about like little kids in the studio, experimenting and playing around. Thanks Jack what a work out but worth it, I think we got some good ones of each other. This was me trying to look like a corporate animal(which I am not naturally) and ending up dissolving into pulling faces and relaxing into this pose.
Head shots don’t have to be stuffy and dull, clients come to my studio but I also visit clients at their work place. It all depends on your company message, how you want your clients to see you and the colour and style of your website.
Headshots start at £75, this includes the edit and choice from approx 30-60 images.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I do hire my studio out to budding enthusiasts and pro photographers. If you are not sure about how to set up studio lighting for your shoot then I can show you, I offer tuition and can help you get set up before your client arrives. Find out more here…
I know it’s been a while since I added a blog post, after a busy summer I took some time off and lost myself on a boat on the Norfolk Broads and loved a week away on Rhodes cycling to deserted beaches and eating lots of greek salad. Now I’m back having switched one of my labels from being a ‘smoker’ to being a ‘vaper’ I have also had my haircut and am seriously reconsidering the gym!
So a little piece of news ( which I am really chuffed about) is Nicholas McCarthy (Pianist) has chosen to use one of my images to use on his new album cover Echoes which is out now he is also on tour see more info here.
If you, like so many other people have chopped up an old photo from your hols or used an image taken on someones phone at a family do to use for your profile image on your social media then please stop and think what this says about you and your company. It’s great to come across as accessible and friendly but some might look at your image and see it as not bothering and possibly slightly unprofessional. I like relaxed and quirky shots for profile pics I’m not saying every company suits a formal look but if you are going to have a picture then choose wisely, get it taken professionally. We all like to see who we are dealing with and like it or not we do make judgements on what we see, make sure the judgements people make are the right ones about you.

Sometimes I get so caught up with working and doing Photography for other people I forget to take time out to just be playful, get creative and experiment with ideas. I have decided that I need to do this more than I have been, so with the help of my daughter ‘Hope’ we are going to plan some creative shoots. Here are a few from today, I just wanted to start simple and take some time to experiment with light and darkness, shape and form. We used a black backdrop, one light sometimes a piece of white card (as a reflector) a fan and a vape! As is often the case with Photography sometimes the unplanned shots are more interesting than the shots you intended to take so I included a few below.
