A few shots from a recent portrait shoot at the studio with three at first slightly nervous and reluctant men and one shy little toddler. Once they realised I was an approachable human who wasn’t going to give them a hard time they soon relaxed and got into the groove.  When baby brother was looking like he wanted to cry I encouraged one of them to clonk me over the head with a soft toy whist I took pics.  He left laughing saying “Twitter status,  just finished knocking a photographer over the head with a soft toy” …..Well it works!

I was delighted to take pictures of these wonderful wagons. They look great, it reminds me of when we were children and my dad used to allow us to jump in the back of the trailer sometimes as he drove us round a camp site so simple yet as a child so much fun. The Secret Vintage Fair was held at St. Giles Hall, Colchester yesterday. Despite the cold wintery weather lots of people got out their best vintage frocks to support the cause and help raise money for Movember. Well done to the wonderfully brave @Nastasche  who raised over £1k by wearing a stuck on moustache all month! I was delighted to be invited to take pics at Sadie and Maxine’s official opening, being in the same building as my studio  I look forward to working together in the future. They provide an appointment only service of various beauty treatments including make-up and hair styling, nails, spray tans and lots of other things, just look up their website or if you are in the area go check out their groovy new Brit pop art styly studio at the Hythe Quay, Colchester. I am currently putting together content for a new site, blog etc so this blog has been kind of neglected, sorry. I want to stream line everything so it all looks a bit more modern, clean and up to date.

Recently I have been meeting up with Zombies with a brilliant special effects make-up artist, who brought along a dismembered hand and a head which she had made, all a bit creepy but I was curious to look in the bag!

Who took part as a stall holder, demonstrator or came a long as a visitor on our Open Day at Boudoir Vous Studio ( http://www.boudoirvous.co.uk/) .  A special thank you and a kiss to Tony, Sadie, Hope, Pippa, Richard, Caz and Mary I couldn’t have done any of it without your help. I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did, had lots of very interesting conversations including suggestions, ideas, offers of support,  and collaboration. I really look forward to seeing what happens next…

Hi, I know I am not brilliant with keeping my blog up to date, it’s something I need to spend more time on! I just wanted to give the people at 15, Queen Street a bit of a shout out. If you don’t know anything about them then you should check out their website or call into their office and meet the lovely Alex Davis who lives on the front desk and will happily give you a tour and tell you a little about what they do. If you are a creative person in your spare time or have turned your hand to starting your own business then they can be a great resource for you. They have lots of different clubs and work shops, get together’s, talks and meet ups where you can mingle and mix with other creatives, pick their brains, share a beer or two and swap details.

If you join as I have as a Flexi member you pay just £15 p/month which entitles you to attend their once a month get together, rental of a room, the opportunity to connect and build relationships with the other members. I went a long yesterday to have my picture taken, and talk about my Boudoir Photography http://boudoirvous.co.uk/ it was windy and rainy so my hair looks like I have a comb over. I really do not like being the other side of the Camera but Alex was very patient with me.
