Random things…

I often take pictures which never get posted or seen by anyone, mainly because I take them for my own pleasure but also because often they do not seem to fit into any particular category. I can spend hours photographing something which has caught my eye, this lilly was calling out for attention so I couldn’t ignore it.

Colchester Means Business

So yesterday I took some time out to go to the first Colchester Means Business Expo at Charter Hall in Colchester. Free entrance and free parking which is always good, I knew there would be lots of people there some of whom I know, so it was a perfect opportunity to network and also to get out and mingle. Being self employed can sometimes be quite isolating so it’s always good to take a break and catch up with others.

I wore a branded T shirt left over from an event I took part in last year at the Castle Park. I figured there would be lots of suits attending so thought I would try and stand out a little, I felt a bit self conscious at first but soon relaxed when I saw some familiar faces.

This was just before myself Adrian and Chris decided to brave the speed networking session, which was super loud, mad and fun. Thanks to everyone who organised the day, it was definitely worthwhile attending I picked up some really useful contacts and fingers crossed have also got some work coming from it.

Canary Wharf – long exposures without a tripod.

The changes that have been made to the London Docklands in the past 25 years have been among the most striking and most dynamic developments in the world. IMG_8571We decided to take a trip to Canary Wharf with our cameras at night. It was a  bit of a challenge for me as I didn’t have a tripod to use so all of these pics are taken using a long exposure and balancing my camera on something I found in the area like steps, tops of bollards etc

The Secret Vintage Fair, Colchester, Essex.

The Secret Vintage Fair was held at St. Giles Hall, Colchester yesterday. Despite the cold wintery weather lots of people got out their best vintage frocks to support the cause and help raise money for Movember. Well done to the wonderfully brave @Nastasche  who raised over £1k by wearing a stuck on moustache all month! To see the other pics of the event go to my gallery the portrait pics will be coming soon watch this space…

My nanny and grandads wedding ( Ellen & Ron - My mum's parents )

Recently I have become so wrapped up with new projects, work and my latest addiction Pinterest that I have neglected my Blog. So instead of going back months and trying to catch up instead I am posting up some wonderful old pics of my grandparents which my dad scanned and emailed over to me.
